Electrical and Information Engineering Ethics Applications

This website provides guidance for submitting ethics applications and obtaining ethics clearance for research. The intended audience is students and staff within the School of Electrical and Information Engineering. The information presented here is taken from the “Guidelines for Human Research Ethics Clearance Application (Non-Medical)” document1.

Although the student is tasked with submitting the ethics application, it is the supervisor’s responsibility to ensure that ethics clearance is obtained when it is required.

Firstly, you need to determine if you need to make an application. Secondly, if you do need to make an application then you need to decide which ethics committee to apply to (there are several). Lastly, on this site you will find all of the forms and necessary information for making applications to the School Committee. If you need to apply to one of the university ethics committees then you will need to follow their application procedures and meet their deadlines.
